From the Editor I
tʼs all go at P&P HQ as I write this. Weʼre five days away from Printwear & Promotion LIVE and by the time you read this, it will all be over for another year.
I say it every year, but the printwear/machinery suppliers who exhibit at P&P year in, year out, never fail to disappoint us and I am looking forward to reporting back on all the exciting new innovations and launches in next monthʼs show review. Live print demonstrations are a key feature of the 2013 show, giving visitors the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and ʻhave a goʼ for themselves. Itʼs all very well reading a brochure, but thereʼs no substitute for seeing these machines close-up and for getting that invaluable hands-on experience, which really takes the mystique out of it all. This yearʼs show is a sell-out, which gives us some very positive signs that despite the talk of a triple dip recession, printwear suppliers seem to
be bucking the trend. We really do value the support of our advertisers and exhibitors – not to mention the 4,000 plus visitors who flock to Birmingham for Printwear & Promotion LIVE. We couldnʼt do it without you. If you attended this yearʼs show, I would love to hear what you thought. And as always, any suggestions for future shows and seminar content are always welcome. I must also mention our annual Printwear & Promotion Garment Decoration Awards. We had some truly stunning work, which gave our judges a bit of a challenge when it came to choosing the winners and runners-up. In fact in one category, the best combined decoration, it was such a tough decision that in the end, we had joint winners. Thank you so much to our judges for giving their time so freely: Jim Nicol, TheMagicTouch; Marie Heracleous, Wicked Printing Stuff; Colin Marsh, Resolute DTG and Peter Wright, Amaya Sales UK.

deales@datateam.co.uk Thereʼs such a big buzz around this yearʼs show...
I would also like to mention TheMagicTouch in despatches! On a recent visit to see Jim Nicol, I subsequently lost my Blackberry in Dunstable. After a cheeky request from me, they nipped round to the elderly lady whoʼd found it and couriered it back to me in the blink of an eye.
What a smashing lot they are! Meanwhile, looking at this monthʼs issue, thereʼs plenty to keep you occupied, from our focus features on T shirts, schoolwear and health/fitness wear, to our regular columns, news and more.
Oh, and I managed to have a few words with TVʼs DIY icon, Tommy Walsh, who has recently become the brand ambassador for Workforce socks. Look out for his ideas on workwear and useful tips on how to avoid “builderʼs bum”! Have a good month, until next time...
