The greatest love of all

I believe the children are our future Teach them well and let them lead the way Show them all the beauty they possess inside Give them a sense of pride to make it easier Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be.

hen it comes to our children, as parents we know we would

do anything for them. We want them to have the best start in life and to understand good values, hard work and to hopefully become a contented and successful person in adult life.

So why do the statistics show that there is a possible ‘epidemic’ of obesity looming over the horizon?

We, as adults have choices what we do with our lives. If we choose to eat an overindulgent meal or treat or to drink that bottle of wine, we do it. Sometimes we may not be aware of the consequences of our actions and how that impacts on our children. For example, if a child lives in a household that permits bullying behaviour then that child learns that behaviour; is it different if a parent places food that is not nutritionally balanced on a plate

or allows fizzy/sugary drinks to be consumed on a regular occasion? Children learn from a young age and it is our role to try and teach them from an early start how to prepare a balanced meal and what they should be drinking regularly.
