The Spa Hotel, Ribby Hall Village
Waterfront uncovers one of the country’s most refined rural retreats in the heart of Lancashire
A
s my partner and I ventured across the rolling Lancashire countryside, we struggled to contain our excitement as we headed towards
the much talked about Spa Hotel at Ribby Hall Village. Having recently received nominations for
‘Best Hotel in the UK’ and ‘Best Spa in the North West’ at the annual Good Spa Awards, this stylish retreat promised to be the jewel in the crown of the gigantic family park complex of Ribby Hall Village. As this hotel exclusively adult-only, we were confident that we could find peace and tranquillity for the weekend – and upon arrival, our premonitions came true! As we were shown to our aptly named Luxury
Room, it became clear that every aspect of our stay would have a clear relaxation focus. Te room itself was adorned with warm colours, natural materials and stylish artwork, while the en-suite was stocked with sumptuous Molton Brown toiletries. But of course, we were at a spa hotel,
and so without much encouragement, I headed down for some of the treatments we had heard so much about, whilst my partner sampled the delights of the Hotel Brassiere’s Champagne Bar. From viewing the treatment menu, it was
clear to see the sheer wealth of service this spa hotel offers. Treatments included everything you could ask for, from an aqua thermal journey – consisting of aroma room, Balinese salt inhalation, ice fountain and rustic sauna rooms – to the Rasul Mud Chamber, and even treatments aimed solely at mums to be. With countless therapies and treats to fulfil any guest’s needs, I felt spoilt for choice when having to choose only one. After much careful consideration, I opted for
the Neom Ogranic Pure Indulgence Treatment (£75). Tis holistic aromatherapy was an utterly luxurious top-to-toe massage which left me feeling completely relaxed but also hydrated and fresh. Te treatment began with a foot exfoliation and soak, before a full body polish and finished with a full body massage with organic aromatherapy oils. With our afternoons rest and relaxation out the
way, we reunited to share tales of the great things we had experienced throughout our day before returning to the room to prepare for dinner. If the hotel is the icing on the cake of Ribby
Hall Village, then the Brassiere is the cherry on top! With such a delicious fine dining menu on offer, it really is no surprise that the awards are duly making their way up north. Te main of
fillet of beef, smoked onion puree, oxo cube and a Madeira jus, which was so expertly prepared it really was as mouth-watering as it sounds. My partner decided on the roast loin of cod, samphire, potted shrimp and shellfish foam, which was a celebration of coastal cuisine with every part being more delicious with every mouthful. Many wouldn’t expect such fine treatment
from a quiet retreat which is sandwiched between Lytham St Anne’s, Blackpool and Preston, however Te Spa Hotel in Ribby Hall Village was an all round delight from start to finish. Utilising the picturesque rural setting to deliver a truly relaxing and refined break, it really is no wonder this hotel is making more and more people venture to the north-west for a weekend break to remember.
