The CLA Game Fair at Belvoir Castle
The CLA Game Fair, a Mecca for shooting and fishing enthusiasts, will also feature horses galore at this, the world’s largest country sports and pursuits event.
The Game Fair is being held this year in the stunning grounds of Belvoir Castle, Grantham, Leicestershire,
20-22 July 2012 for the third time in its history.
As well as being able to explore the very best that rural life has to offer including a host of features and new competitions, there will be plenty to get involved in from shooting to shopping, fishing to dogs, real food, farms, gardens and more.
This year, horses will play a major
role in the main arena entertainment with a range of skills all showing
horses in a working context. Audiences will be taken “way out West” with the Sovereign Quarter Horse team’s skilful display of Western riding techniques. There’ll be edge-of-seat action as the daring Flying Foxes Side Saddle Display Team strut their stuff and the big beasts of the horse world will be in evidence as the Heavy Horse Musical Drive and Obstacle Driving Competition reaches its climax - prepare to be amazed at the precision achieved by these magnificent animals.
As well as headline acts in the main arena to look out for, everything equine is covered in the ‘Hooked on Horses’ Arena which provides a day-long feast
for all horse and pony enthusiasts. Visitors will be able to discover more about the many different breeds of horses, see them in action and learn how to look after them.
Hooked on Horses will be packed with information and advice from experts from associations across
the horse world while numerous exhibitors will be on hand to show-case the latest equestrian must-have products.
The CLA Game Fair is an unrivalled shopping extravaganza, with more than 1,000 exhibitors from fine art galleries to gardening and fashion to fishing tackle. Exclusive names rub shoulders with firm country favourites like Hunter, Joules and the Country Living Pavilion.
Elsewhere at the CLA Game Fair,
Totally Food is a must-visit area for all food lovers and brings together some of the finest small, British food producers. Visitors can chat to the producers themselves or watch the celebrity chefs in the Cookery Demonstration Theatre.
Visitors keen for a taste of the action can have a go at field archery, shooting, fishing, traditional craft making and falconry or try out the Land Rover 4x4 course.
