Shelly Saint-Smith Lecturer in Dance Studies I teach primarily on the BA (Hons) Ballet Education and BA (Hons) Dance Education programmes. My areas of teaching include contemporary dance technique, repertory and performance, Labanotation, and dance analysis. In addition I tutor students undertaking professional teaching placements, supervise undergraduate dissertations and coordinate the BA (Hons) Dance Education Intensive Study Seminar. My current research focuses on the RAD's Karsavina Syllabus and the educational potential of interactive archives.


Dr Victoria Watts Head of Global Partnerships and Qualifications My teaching focus at the RAD is on supervision of practice-based research for students on the Master of Teaching (Dance) and on philosophy and theory across undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes. I also tutor students undertaking professional teaching placements. My research interests are clustered around the areas of dance notation, theories of embodiment, and feminist cultural studies.


Pinaki Chakrabarti PGCE:DT Programme Manager I teach on the education strand of the Academy’s undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and teaching placements. As PGCE:DT Programme Manager, I work closely with dance specialists to ensure the programme meets the exacting standards required of dance teachers in the public sector. My research interests include reflective practice, professional learning, change management and pedagogy and practice.
