Playmobil will be showcasing its 2012 ranges at the London Toy Fair including Pirates, Future Planet, Harbour, an all- new Farm and Stone Age. The first quarter of 2012 alone will see 60 products launched with a total of 128 out over the year. The Harbour Ferry with Pier is large enough to take any Playmobil vehicle, loaded via the ramps at each end and, like all Playmobil boats, it floats for bathtime fun. The Harbour Police has a lockable jail cell and a police boat.
GIBSONS GAMES
Gibsons is launching over 50 puzzle designs for 2012 from new and favourite artists including Terry Harrison, Dick Bogie and Kevin Walsh. A new 100-piece XXL and a challenging 2,000-piece category of puzzles will also be introduced. With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee just around the corner, Gibsons will also be launching two 1,000-piece puzzles to commemorate the event. Other highlights include licensed puzzles from Scalextric, Corgi and Hovis – some of Britain’s best loved brands.
Continuing on from Robert Opie’s ‘Memories Of’ range the new 1980s, Sweet Memories also joins the line-up, celebrating a time when penny sweets really did cost a penny and when there was confectionary such as Fry’s Five Centre, Waifa and Bar Six. The My World range for children has also been introduced; My Silly Stories encourages children to mix and match puzzle pieces to create funny sentences and learn literacy skills. Other new titles in the range are My
Series 2 pocket money figures will launch in February and Series 3 will follow in August. Plus, the Stone Age range arrives in
March. This includes a Stone Age Cave complete with a family, pets, a Mammoth Bone Tent with Hunters, Sabre-toothed Cats, Fire Guardians and a Mammoth with Baby. The all-new Farm collection, out in
March, has everything young farmers will need to ensure everything runs smoothly. This features animals and a
sprinkling of tractors and farm machines. The hay, food, grain or extra machines can be loaded into the barn or grain store with ease via the loading arm. A Farm Shop is also available. The Pirates range will be the next to launch in May, while a pirate ship comes ready to attack with a crew and cannon. Finally, in July, the Future Planet line- up will be launching with a host of tech treats including Infra Red Remote Control, Lasers and Solar Power. Set in the year 2113, the E-Rangers can
examine the planet, its rocks and minerals with their Turbo Jets, explorer bots and exploration vehicles, while keeping in close contact with their commander at the base. If the Dark Rangers launch an attack from their Tower Station, the E-Rangers have defensive weapons to keep them away. There will be a heavyweight TV
advertising campaign across the year, as well as press ads and extensive PR activity supporting these toys and more throughout 2012.

Farmyard and My Garden Day & Night. As with all Gibsons My World products, these have been designed and manufactured in the UK on 100 per cent recycled board. They’re developed in conjunction with child psychologist and play specialist Dr Amanda Gummer. On the games front, Word for Word is a challenge for those who always like to have the last word. It’s a race against time as players challenge friends and family to change the word by adding or anagramming the letters. Simple rules but fiendishly hard.
