VTech is extending its presence into a number of categories this year, expanding the VTech Baby and Pre- school range, as well as continuing to innovate in digital technology.


InnoTab Following the launch of InnoTab, VTech is introducing new features to the tablet for children, available in pink or blue. The enhanced InnoTab (four to nine years) will have a built-in 1.3 mega pixel camera with a rotating ‘self-portrait’ lens allowing children to put themselves in the frame. Children will be able to take their own picture, use the editing suite to add special effects to it and then use their photo in games, in a similar way to the Kidizoom camera. The new InnoTab will also feature a built-in microphone for enhanced game play and video recording. VTech is also adding new software for the InnoTab, Storio and Mobigo learning consoles. The new InnoTab software cartridges will include Hello Kitty, Thomas and Friends and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.


Colour Notebook VTech will also launch a new Colour Notebook (six to nine years) for 2012. The colour notebook will retail at just

under £50 (£49.99). The colour screen brings activities to life as children play through the 90 curriculum-based learning activities using the mouse, finger pad and QWERTY keyboard.


Kidicreative Range The Kidicreative range from VTech, which includes the award winning Kidizoom camera, will be expanding with a number of new additions.


The Kidistylist (six to 11 years) is a digital camera and styling toy that lets girls take photos of themselves and then try out different make-up styles, hairstyles and accessories. The Kidistylist features a 1.8-inch LCD screen and an SD card slot for memory expansion. It also includes a function which makes children the star of their own magazine cover. Also new to the Kidicreative range is


The Secret Safe Diary (six to 11 years) which enables children to write a secret diary using a QWERTY keyboard and then lock it away. Other activities include a virtual pet, an MP3 player and a clock.


Toot-Toot Drivers With the Toot-Toot Drivers Garage taking the top spot as the best-selling item in Infant Electronic Learning last September, (NPD September 2011),

VTech will unveil a number of new range additions in 2012. New vehicles include a cement mixer, tractor and helicopter which each feature three songs, as well as phrases and sound effects, along with new pink vehicles. Three new Toot-Toot Drivers play settings, which fully interact with all the vehicles in the range, will also be introduced for 2012. The Traffic Tracks (12 months and over) introduces colours and traffic concepts by incorporating a stop and go light as well as traffic sounds. The Fire Station (one to five years) is packed with features including a spinning light-up siren, a vehicle eject button for emergency effect, a fire hose and a twisting fire extinguisher. And finally the Car Carrier (one to five years) carries up to six vehicles while the two modes of play teach vehicles phrases and more. This comes complete with two non-electrical vehicles, a drop down ramp and three play pieces. This will be supported with TV and PR activity.


Switch & Go Dinos For 2012 VTech is entering the pre-school vehicle market with its new Switch & Go Dinos (three to eight years). The range consists of seven collectable cars, which change into dinosaurs, including a T-Rex, Pteranodon, Stegosaurs and Triceratops.


The versatile and interactive Switch & Go Dinos have an interchangeable screen and play sound effects of cars and dinosaurs as they are pushed along. The push buttons also activate dinosaur facts, which are reinforced by the included educational flash cards.


VTech Baby VTech Baby continues to go from strength to strength and was the number one property in Infant Electronic Learning and Pre-School Super-category in September (NPD September YTD 2011). For 2012 VTech Baby will see considerable growth with over 20 new additions for children from birth. VTech has taken some of the classic best-selling VTech Baby products and turned them pink. The VTech Baby Pink range is hoped to emulate the success of VTech’s existing pink ranges and includes a pink Day and Night Cuddle Bunny (six months and over) featuring a light-up tummy button for songs and melodies and a night mode for soothing sounds. Another addition to the range is the pink Crawl and Learn Bright Lights Ball (six to 24 months), a motorised ball which rolls on its own to entertain babies with melodies, animal buttons, sounds as well as ribbons for tactile stimulation.
