Francisco fans who really embraced the Giants? It’s awesome. They have the same buzz from the beginning of the season until right now and that shows how loyal San Francisco is to the Giants and to other sports fans as well because we saw how appreciative they were during the shootout with the 49ers. They still love those former players and that’s meaningful. ••• Talk about the maturity of Buster Posey and your pitcher-catcher con- nection. In some ways I feel like we get on the same page so quickly that we’re the same guy. He’s very old for his age; he’s only 24-years-old. To carry some of the weight he has already is pretty cool. He just caught on so quickly, I feel that’s why we connected so well when I pitched and he was calling games. ••• As an all-star and one of the best in

the game you seem to still be some- what under the radar—is that more of your personality? It might be. It’s one of those things where I’m not trying to go out there and do anything special off the fi eld or anything like that. I want to go out there and play and have fun. I enjoy being able to go out to dinner with my wife and kid and have a little relaxed dinner, it’s nice enjoying life that way. •••

Congratulations on the recent birth of your daughter—are you getting any sleep? We are but we are cheating. We’re getting a little help at night. We don’t know how people do it any other way. That’s the only way we’ve been able to keep ourselves sane is with some help. ••• Are you on diaper duty? I’ve got the diapers down, now it’s learning the different cries.

How do you top 2010—what’s next for the Giants? You’ve got to do it again. We’ve got to give ourselves a chance to make it to the postseason and have that opportunity again. It’s so hard to win the World Series, I don’t think anyone’s done it since the Yankees in the 90s so it’s one of those things where you just want to give yourself the opportunity—to be in contention and play in the postseason every year. •••

With the shorter off season this year, are you worried about fatigue in the pitching staff? No, we’re all good. I think everybody’s actually in better shape than before so we are ready to go. •••

What is one word to describe yourself? Calm.
