BA Acting and Stage Combat – This is the UK’s first full-time, three-year course in stage combat and related performance skills. Led by a team hugely experienced and respected in this specialist field, you will study armed and unarmed combat and the use of weaponry in an historical context. In addition to developing your acting skills, your training includes Aikido, free-running and horse riding. Students will typically go on to become fight directors and specialist performers.
BA Community Theatre – In an intensely practical, professionally orientated course, a broad range of acting and performance skills are developed through projects with people in the local community. This is a professional route into the world of theatre which actors can create theatre for, with, and about the communities in which they live.
BA Physical Theatre – This three-year course will equip you with the necessary skills and vision to work as a creator and performer in international theatre which has, in recent years, become more physical, expressionistic and visual. Physical theatre draws its inspiration from popular forms and cultures (circus, street theatre etc), dance and mixed media. Many theatre companies, like Cirque du Soleil, now seek performers with advanced, specialist physical skills so, in addition to traditional acting skills, you will be able to acquire a wide skills base in acrobatics, mask, puppetry, clowning, aerial work and mixed media.
BA World Performance – This unique three-year course enables you to combine practical performance skills with an advanced understanding of global performance approaches and techniques. You will be involved in devising, researching, creating and performing projects that reflect the influences of styles of performance worldwide. It is aimed at students who have an interest and skills in performance, but may not want to become traditional, professional actors.
FdA/BA Community Theatre – This course will appeal if you wish to train for a career in theatre practice that is focused in the community. This is an intensely practical, professionally-orientated Foundation programme in which a broad range of acting and performance skills are developed through projects with

As the emphasis is on learning through practice, you will become part of a creative production team from the first term and work with actors, musicians and professional directors and designers to create productions for public performances. You can complete the Foundation degree after two years or study for a further year to obtain a Bachelors degree.
Certificate of Higher Education Theatre Arts – The Certificate provides a foundation in acting, as well as an understanding of theatre and film history. You will undertake a highly focused exploration of acting techniques, along with movement, dance, music and improvisation. The programme lasts for one year and some successful students may be offered a place on one of East 15’s full-time courses, like BA Acting, or accepted at another drama school or university. Auditions
If you apply for an acting-based course you will be required to attend an audition in the UK. Auditions run from December to June and consist of a series of workshops to include the presentation of audition speeches and a prepared song. You will generally receive feedback and suggestions during the audition, which will last for at least half a day.
Our audition process is very thorough and has been commended for the opportunity it provides for applicants to demonstrate their potential. Please note that if you are an international applicant, you may submit a DVD audition if you cannot attend an audition in the UK.
If you are applying for a physical skills-based course, you will be required to attend an audition that will assess your acting ability, along with your aptitude for the course and athleticism.
If you are applying for a technical course, you will be required to attend an interview and technical aptitude workshop with staff involved in technical theatre tuition.
