500 pages worth of competence in stainless steel
WASI, the global system partner for stainless steel fasteners, released a new catalogue for its WASI Norm product division at the recent Fastener Fair Stuttgart.
he 500 page reference work is distinguished above all by user-friendly innovations which make product searches even easier: a clear, category-based table of contents, a new WASI screw search function and a separate overview page for every DIN Standard. The beginning of the catalogue provides a breakdown of the WASI system components, including a detailed description of the WASI service spectrum. The catalogue is topped off by a comprehensive Technical Manual, which contains
everything worth knowing about the topic of stainless steel fasteners. “We are proud of our new product catalogue – a masterpiece of clear presentation and user-friendliness. Its improved navigation
makes it even easier for the customer to find the right fastener in our broad and varied product range”, says Dirk Kiele-Dunsche, managing director of Wagener & Simon WASI GmbH & Co. KG. “An easy-to-manage catalogue helps companies to reduce administrative costs related to the procurement of C-parts – thus also reducing process costs. In this way, the new product directory is a further step towards our avowed goal of optimising the procurement management of our customers, thereby helping them to save costs.”
Rivet to pivot on
The latest addition to Ornit Blind Rivets product range is the ‘PIV-OR’, which it says is a perfect example of the exceptional customer service it offers.
features a pre-designed accurate grip which was produced to meet a user’s specifications. Ornit’s extensive product range also includes the double-locking
ORLOCK, the split-tail OR-BULB, the OR-BOLT and the ORNILOCK structural rivet, all of which are available in a range of diameters and materials. Ornit’s subsidiary company, Ornit Inc, is located in the USA, providing Ornit’s products and services to its North American clients.
FDB adds to range
FDB Panel Fittings has recently added the IP65 7-078 compression latch, and its sister variant 7-079 with depth adjustable shaft, to its range of stainless steel handles, hinges, locks and swing handles.
The compression stroke of 6mm on the 7-078 (9mm on 7-079) generates enough pressure to compress even the thickest gaskets F
and seals while the 90° action coupled with high pull down forces are capable of resisting vibrational movement that may otherwise allow doors to shake open. Also, the depth adjustable shaft on the 7-079 enables the cam position to be re-set to accommodate varying door-to frame depths. FDB’s 7-078 and 7-079 also feature a colour indicator of open-closed status for ready identification. IP65 sealing against dust and water is the norm for applications with these latches – as are wet/corrosive environments where stainless steel hardware is a standard fitment.

DB highlights that both items are especially suited to applications where vibration may be a significant problem or where an unusually wide compression range is required. These situations include road vehicles, railway rolling stock, gen-sets, HVAC installations, etc.
or 35 years Ornit has been supplying rivets for the construction, automotive, electronic, and solar energy industries, as well as working with customers, when possible, to design and manufacture custom designed rivets. The ‘PIV-OR’ is a pivot style rivet which can be used in various applications including ladders, security bars and hand tools. The ‘PIV-OR’, available in 6mm diameter and steel/steel,
