New press delivers 15 percent extra capacity

YSTEMS LABELLING, said to be the UK’s largest label printer, has invested in a new Mark Andy 17-inch, eight colour servo-driven flexo press.

Managing director Gwyn Bouch says: “The new press will

significantly increase capacity to meet demand and provide our business with the room to grow. From a product development perspective we will also be able to run thinner gauge materials with PET liner adding value for our customers by driving down packaging weight and offering a recyclable alternative to traditional glassine liners. Dave Acott, the quality and technical director, told Converterthat the new machine means an additional 15 percent capacity producing a minimum of 25 million metres per annum. “Coupled with a new inline die cutting facility with turret rewind this investment will provide choice and flexibility for our customers whilst developing the skill base of our production staff and the new plant will be up and running next March,” says Acott.
