chairperson’S REPORT
the financial constraints of the past two years have created difficulty for the ana Liffey drug project. expenditure has had to be restricted; in 2009 no staff salary increments were paid, the organisation was placed in the position of having to offer short term contracts to staff due to the uncertainty of funding and the organisation took other fiscal measures to ensure that we remained within a reduced budget whilst maintaining our level of service to the people we work with. the council of Management pays tribute to the attitude of our staff in understanding and accepting the need for these measures.
despite the ongoing financial uncertainties, due to the expansion of the services provided by the project and the continued growth in client numbers during the past two years, staff numbers have increased to 20. the team has given loyal and dedicated service to our clients whose needs are wide, diverse and pressing.
We recently said farewell to rose toal who after 15 years of service left to take up a new job. rose’s commitment to the project was outstanding and only surpassed by her commitment to the needs and rights of our clients. We wish her well in the future.
sadly, on Monday 2nd February 2009, Frank Woods passed away peacefully. Frank gave many dedicated years of service as the treasurer of the ana Liffey drug project. he is missed greatly, may he rest in peace.
the project is supported by a small and experienced council of Management, whom i thank for their commitment. in turn, responsibility for day to day management lies with the director, tony duffin, and the project Management group. We thank tony and the entire staff team for a job well done despite the difficulties of this time.
