TREASURER’S REPORT


the incoMe oF the ana Liffey drug project mainly comes from various statutory authorities including the health service executive, the north inner city drugs task Force, the office of the Minister for drugs and the department of Justice and Law reform. during 2009, extraordinary funding was provided by dublin city council and the office of the Minister for drugs to refurbish and fit out no.48 & no.51 Middle abbey street.


staff salaries and related payments are by far the largest expense of the project as client services are the main activity of the organisation. Most other expenditure was connected to overhead costs for no.48 & no. 51 Middle abbey street and equipment connected to the various client services provided.


during the year the ana Liffey drug project acquired a motor vehicle which is included in the Balance sheet under Fixed assets. costs of running this are included in the operating expenses. the balance sheet also shows accruals relating to monies held for various projects ongoing into the next financial year. net assets of the project as at 31st december 2009 were €989,560 which were represented by:

the government grant related to a mortgage debenture granted through the northern area health Board for 48 Middle abbey street which the project writes off at a rate of one twentieth per annum from the date of inception.


overall, the Management of the project have maintained care over funds provided to ensure that they are spent in accordance with their purpose and in an efficient manner to ensure the sound financial standing of the project for the future. the council of Management appreciate the dedicated work of the administrator in recording the financial affairs of the project thoroughly and to the highest standard and also the project director for prudent and efficient management of the funds during the year.
