My position at HQ Land is SO2 Equipment Support Material, Combat Equipment – I’m the one that the end- user comes to with his spares problems. I then take them forward to the relevant PT (Project Team) who in turn take them to industry. When we have a meeting between industry, the PT and the user, I then become the user so I’m then the one giving critique and praise, more often it’s praise to industry and the PT on behalf of the end-user. help. Supporting a main battle tank is something more of a challenge. To put it into context, many of us are familiar with the retailer Argos and have picked up, read and used the Argos catalogue. The catalogue carries just over 19,000 products, whereby the number of parts on the Challenger 2 main battle tank is between 36,000 and 38,000. So what goes into supporting the Challenger 2? It is not

as straightforward as one might think. It is a very complex platform with a considerable number of subsystems within the equipment itself.
