a visit to Woodhorn in Ashington is a must.
Rural Northumberland mostly consists of the Northumberland
National Park and Kielder Water & Forest Park. You therefore won’t
be surprised to hear that the county offers some of the best walking,
with events and festivals taking place throughout the year. It is also
home to some of the best cycling and birdwatching in Britain as well
as many of its finest pubs! Kielder is officially the most tranquil place
in England according to the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
Northumberland also possesses some of the country’s finest

Whichever part of the county you choose to explore, apart from
experiencing one of the most distinctive and beautiful counties in
Britain, I have no doubt that a chief pleasure will be encountering
the inimitable warmth of the Northumbrian people.
