target to get the 5-foot result, 12 feet from the target to get the 10-foot results, etc. T e older Taser X26E is still widely used but is out of production. We did very limited testing with the new PhaZZer car- tridges in the X26E. Same for the PhaZZer Enforcer. Due to its lower price, this toe- to-toe competitor with the Taser X26 has had sales success. We did very limited test- ing with the new PhaZZer cartridges in the PhaZZer Enforcer. T e bulk of our testing was with the new PhaZZer cartridges in the Taser X26P. Both makes of cartridges are interchange- able with all single-cartridge Taser and PhaZZer devices. However, all of these de- vices have slightly diff erent software pro- grams and hardware circuitry. T e X26P has an all-digital, solid-state electrical architecture with “charge metering” that measures and delivers the optimal amount of electric charge. T e best way to be SURE the new PhaZZer cartridges work in the
Taser X26P is to fi re a lot of them from the Taser X26P. T e new PhaZZer cartridges were compatible with this circuitry.
Point of Aim & Impact With the PhaZZer cartridge from the PhaZZer Enforcer, the laser dot shows the center of the two-dart group. T e PhaZZer specs indicate the top dart impacts at 3 de- grees above the laser dot and the lower dart impacts at 3 degrees below the laser dot. With both the Taser cartridge from the Taser X26P and the PhaZZer cartridge from the Taser X26P, the cartridge fi res the top dart level with the laser beam. T e standard Taser cartridges have a point of aim versus point of impact (zero) for the top dart at 13 feet. Taser specs for the top dart will hit where the laser is pointed at 13 feet within a 3-inch circle.
With the PhaZZer cartridge from the Taser X26P, the top dart grouped about 1 inch above the laser dot from 5 feet.
S WE TESTED AT 5, 10, 15 AND 20 FEET. LIKE THE TASER, THE TOP PHAZZER DART HITS THE LASER DOT. HOWEVER, THE PHAZZER DARTS HAVE LESS SPREAD. AT LONGER DEPLOYMENT RANGES, LESS SPREAD MEANS BOTH DARTS ARE MORE LIKELY TO HIT THE TARGET.
