DMG MORI Revals Six New, Updated Machines at Open House


fronten, Germany – During its annual open house at the foothills of the Alps, where DMG MORI builds the largest of its machines, the German-Japanese ma- chine tool company premiered six new models and said that a new global manufacturing dynamic is beginning to take shape. During a press conference, Dr. Ru- diger Kapitza, CEO of DMG MORI AG, and Dr. Masahiko Mori, CEO of DMG MORI Co., Ltd. gave an overview of the global machine tool market that showed mature manufacturing mar- kets such as the US, Britain, Germany and Italy showing gains. Mori said more work is returning to Europe, the US and Japan, enabled by fi ve-axis and other advanced technologies. Mori also said that a direct-sales model the company is in the process of implementing in the United States, which is the second-largest machine tool market in the world, is already showing promising signs DMG MORI has already enlisted 685 employees to provide service and application support at more than two dozen new technical centers. Mori said the strat- egy will help DMG MORI be more price competitive and work directly with large companies and develop stronger technical assistance.


The new and updated machines include a second-generation CTX gamma 3000 TC, the fourth gen- eration DMU 160 P duoBLOCK, the second generation of the DMU 210 P, the DMU 600 Gantry linear, the DIXI 125 and the second generation of the Ultrasonic 20 linear. — Editor-in-Chief Sarah A. Webster
