hree months before the opening of Hannover Messe 2016, Deutsche Messe (the trade fair’s organizer) gave a glimpse to journalists of what visitors can expect April 25–29. And it’s all about what’s next in the world of industry. Speaking inside Hall 19, the newest addition to
Hannover, Germany’s, exhibition complex, Jochen Koeckler announced that the theme of Hannover Messe 2016 will be Integrated Industry-Discover- ing Solutions. Koeckler, Deutsche Messe manag- ing board member responsible for the Hannover show, noted that, “A world fi rst this year will be over 100 examples of real-world implementations of Industry 4.0.”
These examples, he said, will demonstrate how manufacturers can turn their facilities into smart factories as well as how energy systems can be digitized and connected for heightened effi ciency. Smart factories and connected energy solutions are an essential combination, he said, adding, “A factory that works well can only do so with a secure and affordable supply of energy.” Also, Koeckler pointed out, for the fi rst time in the 70 years of the Hannover show, the US will be featured as the Partner Country. As a result, he said, “hundreds of US companies and agencies will be on the show fl oor in April.” He then turned the fl oor of the Hannover Messe 2016 Preview over to John Emerson, US ambassador to Germany.
