ShibSibs attend Right To Play 2016 Big Red Ball Maia and Alex Shibutani, the reigning U.S. ice dance champions and World silver
medalists, served as athlete ambassadors at the Right To Play 2016 Big Red Ball Oct. 24 in New York City. This year’s event, hosted by “TODAY” show’s Willie Geist, celebrated the 1 million children participating in Right To Play programs around the world, and the cham- pions returning from the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “The work that Right To Play does is important, impactful and inspiring,” Maia said.
“Alex and I are honored to be ambassadors.” The event marks the siblings’ third consecutive ball in an ambassador role, having
teamed with the organization prior to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Right To Play is the leading global nonprofi t to use the transformative power of play
to educate and empower children. Throughout the world, Right To Play is revolutionizing classrooms by teaching educators how to engage students in higher-quality learning that encourages children to stay in school, remain healthy and build peaceful communities.

gureskating.org and click the

publications that it creates annually, including the rulebook, directory and media guide. The portal is also the place to purchase the SKATING magazine Michelle Kwan cover col- lection. And new to the portal last year, the SKATING Magazine Cover Creator allows you to personally customize a SKATING magazine cover with your choice of photo, color scheme and headline. For those members who want free access to the digital edition of the rulebook, go to
the U.S. Figure Skating website and click on “TECHNICAL INFO” on the main menu bar.
