On the cover

Hans Rosemond Photography Nathan Chen, the 2016 U.S. bronze medalist, is looking for bigger and better things as he rebounds from a hip injury and surgery that prematurely ended his best season to date earlier this year. Chen’s humble approach to his craft has served him well. The 17-year-old established a new U.S. record at the 2016 U.S. Championships in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he landed two quads in his short program and four more in his free skate. The sky appears to be the limit for this rising star. With his Grand Prix Se- ries events slated this month, Chen can’t wait to rise to the occasion. A story on this gifted athlete starts on page 22. Enjoy!
