A CELEBRATION OF THE 14 YEARS OF PROGRESS

FATHER GARANZINI SHARES THE VISION THAT SHAPED LOYOLA

2001–2015

AFTER 14 YEARS OF LEADERSHIP, Michael J. Garanzini, S.J., has stepped down from his position as president and CEO of Loyola University Chicago, effective June 30, 2015. This transition will allow Father Garanzini to satisfy the ever- increasing demands of his position as secretary for higher educa- tion for the Society of Jesus, in which he is tasked with promoting Jesuit higher education around the world. Father Garanzini will continue his service to Loyola as chancellor, serving at the direction of the president to support international programs, fundraising, and other strategic priorities. On July 1, 2015, John Pelissero, PhD, Loyola’s provost since 2010, began serving as the interim president. Samuel Attoh, PhD, dean of the Graduate School, was named interim provost. Loyola’s Board of Trustees will lead a compre- hensive presidential search over the next year. As Loyola prepares for a presidential transition, we celebrate the legacy of growth and advancement under the leadership of Michael J. Garanzini, S.J.
