FRONTLINES QUINLAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

THE BUSINESS SCHOOL

Alumnus tapped to lead business school Kevin T. Stevens (JFRC Spring ‘73, BA ‘79) was

appointed dean of the nationally ranked Quin- lan School of Business. Stevens, who received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Uni- versity, returns to Loyola from DePaul University where he served as professor of accounting, director of the School of Accountancy and Man- agement Information Systems, and director of global initiatives in the College of Business. “Quinlan is building momentum with a

renewed focus and commitment to business education, research, and partnerships, and we are pleased to have found the right person to lead the school during this critical time,” says John Pelis- sero, PhD, interim president of Loyola. “We need a leader who is knowledgeable about Chicago, has strong connec- tions to the local business community, and has the abil- ity to strategically position

Quinlan for success over the course of the next decade. We have found that leader in Kevin.” Stevens officially joined Quinlan on July 1. “Returning to Loyola as dean is an honor. The

broad-based Jesuit education I received was in- strumental in whatever success I have had in my career, and I am delighted to join a faculty and staff committed to the values-based leadership that business today is demanding,” says Stevens. “Understanding global business and hav-

ing the ability to analyze and communicate the uses of ‘big data’ to make decisions will become increasingly important,” he says. “But, producing leaders with a strong moral compass is what Catholic universities are particularly well-equipped to do, and upon which we should continue to focus and grow.” Stevens, his wife (a Loyola alumna), and his

two sons all attended Loyola’s John Felice Rome Center.
