FAIST Light Metals to Place Facility in Tennessee FAIST Light Metals, a division of


Italy-based FAIST Industrial Group, announced it will locate a new facility in Ripley, Tennessee, investing $3.1 million and creating 30 jobs. FAIST Light Metals specializes


in diecasting, machining and surface plating of components and assemblies, working with the telecom, automotive, electronics and industrial markets. Initially, the facility in Ripley will primarily manufacture automotive


components and will expand into diecasting in the future. FAIST has bought a 65,000-sq.-ft.

Linamar, GF Automotive Choose North Carolina for New Operation


Linamar Corp., Guelph, Ontario, and GF Automotive, a division of Georg Fischer AG, Schaff hausen, Switzerland, announced they will place jointly owned GF Linamar LLC’s new aluminum diecasting facility in Mills River, North Carolina. GF Linamar LLC will provide large light metal high-pressure die castings for powertrain, driveline and structural com- ponents for the North American market. T e business will invest more than


$200 million in the facility in two phases over the next seven years, adding 350 manufacturing jobs over the next fi ve years. Production is expected to begin in


the middle of 2017. “This will be our fourth plant


in North Carolina, an area where we have thrived thanks to a fantas- tic workforce and a great business environment,” said Linda Hasenfratz, CEO, Linamar. “It is rapidly becom- ing an important hub for us to serve our customers in the southern U.S, and North America overall.” “The location is ideal for us, and


we look forward to a prosperous future for our joint venture in the U.S.,” said Yves Serra, CEO, GF. ■
