IN CLOSING “AIDOS”


“This 36” x 48” oil on canvas painting was done as part of a fi gure painting course. I created it as a way to raise awareness about domestic violence— specifi cally, violence against women. The painting portrays the feelings of isolation that many women feel while in an abusive relationship. They feel trapped. While creating the piece, I drew on my experience as a volunteer at the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan.”
