Dues Reminder Please note, if you have not paid your Auxiliary dues:
• An annual continuous member must have his or her 2016 dues received at VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters by June 30, 2016 in order to maintain his or her continuous years of membership within the organization. There is no longer a “reinstate” category for membership.
• If an annual continuous member’s 2016 dues are not received at National Headquarters by June 30, 2016, his or her continuous membership will end. He or she will then have to:
REJOIN the organization PROVE eligibility again Be READMITTED by voting members into the local Auxiliary AND START continuous years over
• Again, if an annual continuous member misses even a single year of paying dues on time, his or her continuous years of membership start over at 1.
• This change will also affect an annual continuous member’s eligibility for a Cancer Grant. If he or she does not maintain his or her continuous membership, he or she will have to wait one full year before being eligible for another grant. There remains a limit of two grants per lifetime.
Sending original photographs to Headquarters
unfortunately, on rare occasions, we do not receive your submissions. It is for this reason that we strongly urge members not to submit original photos. Here are some tips for sending your pictures to Headquarters:
W • Electronic photos should be JPEG files, 1 MB or larger.
• From your smart phone – email
info@vfwauxiliary.org from your phone choosing the largest file size possible (“actual size” on iPhones).
• If the picture is a print – take a picture of it with your smart phone and then email it to Headquarters from your phone choosing largest file size.
• Scan the photo into a printer, choose largest file (dots per inch – dpi) and email. A scan of 600 dpi usually works well.
• Mail a reprint of your photo to Headquarters and we will return it to you. January 2016 | 19
