A sparkling new production of The Wedding Singer, the hilarious musical based on the hit fi lm, will be coming to the Bristol Hippodrome from 14th-18th March.
Stepping back in time and starring in the biggest party in town are Jon Robyns (Robbie Hart), Ray Quinn (Glen), Cassie Compton (Julia), Roxanne Pallett (Holly), Ruth Madoc (Grandma Rosie), Barbara Rafferty (Grandma Rosie in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness), Nadia Forde (Linda in Dublin), Samuel Holmes (George), Tara Verloop (Linda), Paris Green, Hannah Jay-Allen, Susie Fenwick, Helen Walsh, Eamonn Cox, Simon Anthony, Ainsley Hall-Ricketts, Andrew Carthy, Mark Pearce, Ryan-Lee Seager and Erin Bell. It’s 1985. Hair is huge, greed is good and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favourite wedding singer. When his own fi ancée dumps him at the altar a seriously bummed out Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own.
Can sweet natured Julia and her best friend Holly lure Robbie out of the dumpster and back into the limelight? Or is he going to see her head off down the aisle with Wall Street bad boy Glen. Only Grandma Rosie seems to be able to see that Robbie and Julia are the couple that are meant to be. HOROSCOPE By Quinn
ARIES (March 21st to April 19th)
All those around you should be showering you with kindness, good advice and help where you probably don’t want it. You are so popular in fact that it is becoming a very real nuisance. There should be some news of a family nature coming toward the weekend and this could be the cause of further excitement and attention. Don’t blow it. Just take it as it comes. They mean well and you would be the fi rst to complain if you were ignored.
TAURUS (April 20th to May 20th)
This is a peaceful time in your life when you should be enjoying the more domestic pursuits. Why not turn it to your advantage and do a spot of entertaining. You have much to offer and there is quite a lot you would like to show off. Work is another matter and there is little to enjoy there at the moment. Much of your time will be taken up fi ghting off some very unwelcome rivalry. Treat this seriously or you could be redundant.
GEMINI (May 21st to June 21st) This is the start of a period in your life when you will be enjoying increasing amounts of success. Property matters loom large and there could be a move on the cards. This coming week heralds the very beginning of all this so you ought to take care to lay plans accordingly. If you could fi nd time to sort out a few of your extra responsibilities and get rid of them, it could save time later on. There is a chance you will fi nd something of real value where you expected nothing.
CANCER (June 22nd to July 22nd)
Spare time activities could prove a real source of value to you from now on. If you need a spot of extra cash, this too could be on the cards. If you plan to begin a course of training or instruction, do look a second time at what you think you want to do. Don’t be swayed by what others want you to do either, only you can do it and only you should choose to do so. Romance is in the air just now and if you are free, this could be it.
LEO (July 23rd to August 22nd) This is a time when partnerships are at their most vulnerable. You may well have the urge to go it alone but you would be so very wrong. What you need is company and good solid backing. You need the security of a good, established relationship. If you throw it all away on a whim, you will regret it bitterly for many weeks to come. Travel plans could go a bit awry toward the end of the week, so you should double check all bookings.
VIRGO (August 23rd to September 22nd) This coming fortnight you will notice a defi nite trend amongst your friends to spread out and move in directions far from your own sphere. You should not take this amiss, it is just a natural progression of life. You have your own path to follow which won’t include them to any great extent. You may be tempted to try to fi ll your life temporally with all sorts of activities and extra hard work. Don’t overdo it. You need your energy and you need to have a fresh outlook on life, so try to relax a bit.
LIBRA (September 23rd to October 23rd) Let rip with your feelings. This is no time to hide what you feel because if you don’t let someone know, they will assume you feel nothing. In fact everything you do just now should be ruled by your heart rather than your head. Plain sense has no part in your scheme of things so just keep it at bay. If your partner comes up with a little extra cash, try to help them spend it. You will both enjoy a fl ing for a change.
SCORPIO (October 24th to November 22nd) A forgotten side of your character is an over-conscious sense of duty toward others. This coming fortnight especially you will fi nd yourself busy with the affairs of those around you. This is not a good idea because you have ample of your own business to cope with. If you can decently get out of helping those about you, do. Be careful though, you don’t want to alienate anyone in the process.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd to December 21st) Don’t let an unsympathetic attitude put you off a good opportunity which you can recognise but others may not. You have got yourself into something of an emotional mess and you must sort it out before the weekend arrives with all that will mean. Relax for a bit, clear your mind and look at things as they are, not as you imagine them to be. That way you will sort out the wood from the trees and your future will be far more secure.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd to January 20th) Right now you are chock full of charm and diplomacy which is defi nitely not you. Don’t be surprised if your very correct overtures to a certain person are frankly misunderstood. What can you expect? Don’t lose your cool over it, just persevere and eventually they will realise this is the new you and you mean what you say. Till the Stars change around again, that is.
AQUARIUS (January 21st to February 19th) You could well be infuriated with someone close to you at the moment. Well you couldn’t make up your mind and someone had to do it. If what has been decided is not what you want you are just going to have to grin and bear it because if you insist on your own way this time around, you are going to lose out quite seriously. It is a matter simply of what you want for the future. If you don’t know for sure now, then the decisions of others must just stand.
PISCES (February 20th to March 20th) The temptation will be strong to fl irt both with new situations and with a new someone. Take advice and stay as you are. Keep your eyes fi rmly on your already chosen path ahead and do not deviate. Where emotional problems are concerned what you are looking for in a relationship just does not exist. Stick to what you have and don’t risk your happiness or that of your family because of passing boredom, it will soon pass.
