Food Adventure Fermented Vegetables • 26 Mar • Penderyn Community Centre
Fermented foods have been in existence for thousands of years. Cultures around the world have been eating fermented foods for years, from Sauerkraut in Germany
to Kimichi in Korea and
everywhere in between. Many of your favourite foods are probably fermented – bread, cheese, wine, pickles, soy sauce and even coffee and chocolate! These foods taste great, are good for your health! Fermented foods help the
digestive tract run more smoothly and are rich in enzymes, vitamins and nutrients. We are pleased to present a series of four fermentation classes with Simon Mackenzie-Mason owner of The Gourmet Gardner. The four workshops will focus on fermented vegetables, fermented grains, fermented dairy and light fermented beverages. During this half day hands-on fermentation workshop Fermented Vegetables – Saurkraut, Kimchi and More you will learn how to make sauerkraut, kimchi, and other vegetables and fruit ferments and how easy it is to make at home.
