ACHIEVE THE BEST FOR ALL and they

couldn’t be happier that their home in a Welsh seaside town will soon be fi lled with the noise of two growing youngsters and their toys.

The couple who married last year are both from big families and have always wanted to be parents. After almost two years of preparation they are about to fi nalise the adoptions and become fathers.

They have already prepared a playroom with soft toys and games and are planning go-karting along the promenade, train rides, visits to castles and a special fi rst Christmas together complete with snow machine.

But most importantly they are looking forward to providing a secure, loving and permanent home for two children who have had a

diffi cult start in life. Rob, who works as a chef, said: “We thought of surrogacy and fostering but felt adoption would be the best as there are so many children who need loving homes.

“Barnardo’s has been running fostering and adoption services for such a long time that we decided to apply to them. “We talked about it for a year before we applied. We also discussed things with our own families and we have a great support network. We are both from large families and we think there has been peace and quiet in our house for too long!”

Once the couple applied to adopt they were visited by social workers and were then invited to take part in a three day course organised by Barnardo’s Cymru to explain the implications of adoption and encourage them to think if it was right for them. They were able to meet someone who had already adopted who shared her experiences. If you think you could adopt a child Barnardo’s would like to hear from you. They are particularly in need of homes for older children and siblings. For more details see barnardos.org.uk/adoption or
