Wales to play four fixtures ahead of RWC
Wales’ 2019 Rugby World Cup preparations will see Warren Gatland’s side face back-to-back fixtures against both England and Ireland next summer. Wales will kick-off their series of matches on Sunday 11th August with a visit to Twickenham to face England. The two sides will play the reverse
fixture six days later at Principality Stadium on Saturday 17th August. Wales will then welcome Ireland to Cardiff on Saturday 31st August before concluding their fixture programme in Dublin against Ireland on Saturday 7th September. The final fixture against Ireland will come after Wales have
New Kit for Sully Pinks U14s
submitted their RWC squad to World Rugby, which will take place earlier that week. “We have put together a detailed plan of preparation leading into the tournament and these fixtures are an extremely important part of that. It is important we test ourselves in competitive environments before heading to Japan and these matches are ideal for us and I’m delighted to have secured back-to- back fixtures against both England and Ireland.” said Gatland.
With the tournament just 12 months away the WRU yesterday announced a unique partnership with the city of Kitakyushu where the squad will base themselves upon arrival in Japan.
The on-going community engagement programme and backing from the city will see Wales head to Toyota for their first game on September 23rd 2019 full of support. The top price at the 31st August auction was £3600 for 12 bottles of Ch. Mouton Rothschild 2004. Other prices were £2600 for one bottle Krug Collection Brut Champagne 1961. Whilst 6 bottles of mixed first growth Claret achieved £2000. A feature of the sale was the number of private cellars from various sellers including an extensive parcel of Claret from Sussex and a very interesting collection of Burgundy both Red and
White from different vendors. Prices ranged from a few pounds to several thousand pounds per case.
Competition was fierce throughout with absentee
bidders from both overseas and within the UK showing interest in the same lot(s) as those in the Auction Room itself. With several lots once again exceeding the auctioneers estimates. The next Wine Auction is on Friday 19th October 2018. Included in this sale will be a vast collection of Burgundy, Claret, Champagne and Vintage Port.
