Designedwith the harsh conditions at sea inmind, is IMAX clothing.
Fishing clothing
Inmany ways, the hunting and shootingmarkets have heavily influencedmuch of what has been made available in the angling apparel sector, certainly in recent years. HalkonHunt cornered the
market – especially formatch and coarse fishing – thanks to its Gore-Tex-lined clothing, which has stood the test of time formore than two decades. Brands like Preston Innovations
with itsDriFish clothing have followed on and developed their own ideas and styles, expanding into footwear, fleeces, hoodies and more as time has gone by. Fly fishing firms likeOrvis,
with its outdoor and clothing background, have also done well over the years, while others have learnt their craft as a result. Snowbee built its reputation
on its waders but over the years it has addedmore andmore clothing. For 2017,Snowbee will be introducing a non-zip version of its five-layerGeo-5 breathable waders, following the formidable success of the zip-fronts last year.
Tere will
also be a travel vest designed to appeal to a wider audience, including bird
watchers,dog walkers and
photographers in particular. Although it appears from
its website thatHardy is only currently offering caps in its apparel range, it has produced somememorable clothing over the years. Its sister companyGreys –
another part of the Pure Fishing corporation – has waders, jackets and trousers under its Strata and Prowla banners. Whatever your style of fishing,
Svendsen Sport has you covered, fromits carp and specialist angler gear under the Prologic name, to fly fishing vests, jackets and trousers through
Scierra. And that’s before you look at the extensive IMAX range designed, in themain, for sea fishermen. Of course, if you are looking
for totally waterproof gear then Vass – another company that started out offering waders to the anglingmarket – is worth talking to. Its hoodies and waterproof
smocks have been so successful that both local and international fishing teams have been using it in competitions. If it’s good enough for them… Challenging the traditional
clothing are several brands includingNavitas, which has taken an ‘urban’ street approach to its apparel, to produce clothing that not only performs well on the bank but looks stylish and fashionable enough to wear even when you are not on the bank.
Camou conundrum
Camouflage clothing is growing in popularity with hunters and some
anglers.Although itmay not be for everyone, it could perhaps prove to be profitable. Realtree is one of themost
popular camouflage clothing brands, and with good reason. It has a range of patterns available to specificallymatch to what game you are hunting, in what region and the specific landscape. Whether you are hunting in a
snowy environment or surrounded by hardwood trees,Realtree will have a pattern tomatch to ensure you blend in asmuch as possible. Realtree licencesmany brands
tomake clothing in these camou patterns for everyone, including men, women and children. With sizes up to 8XL, there really is something to fit even the tallest of hunters or fishermen.
