THE SIRE: Being the highest PLI son of Seagull-Bay Platinum on the UK list, De-Su Penley 11839 (Shamrock
x Massey x Ramos) excels in his tremendous fi tness traits – something which can be seen throughout his productive female family line. With an excellent lifespan score of +0.6, good fertility index of +6.1 and positive calving ease percentages, Penley cannot be faulted for his outstanding ability to transmit great fi tness traits. Also what really helps to give Penley his sky-high PLI of £673 is his somatic cell count (SCC) score. At -32, Penley is the third top young genomic sire available in the UK ranked on SCC, with the highest sire only topping him by 2 points at -34. Penley also boasts superb production traits; a lot of milk (+685kgs) with +27.9 kgs fat and +22kgs protein and positive components. Type Merit (TM) does not go a miss with this young sire either. Transmitting excellent mammary systems at +3.26, daughters will also have great legs and feet at +3 making Penley’s overall TM score an impressive +3.69.
