ith studios in London and Birmingham, plus a state-of-the-art production facility in the West Midlands, Scruffy Dog prides itself on

producing fresh and innovative design and concepts matched with superb quality craftsmanship, fabrication and installation; always on time and to budget. Founder Joe Bright started the business eight years ago at

the age of just 22 from a friend’s garage in East London. Until four years ago, there was only a trio of designers on board, but the company has mushroomed in size and scope after reaching out beyond Joe's roots in the TV and film set design sector to serve clients in theme parks, museums, festivals, exhibits, hotels and resorts, F&B and retail spaces. Recognising that, when it comes to parks and attractions,

they serve an industry where the guest experience is always evolving and serving a new age of clientele, Scruffy's team of creatives, designers, draftsmen, project managers and craftspeople strive to push their imagination and creativity to the limit. The firms's London design studio is complemented by a second outlet in Birmingham, where the company's workshop can handle projects of any scale. Here a team of in-house design managers, concept artists, 3D, graphic and technical designers get to work turning theirs and their client's ideas into reality using the latest software and machinery. “We have invested heavily in equipment over the past

few years,” notes Bright. “This allows our talented team to provide a unique design service that is not only fast and cutting edge, but extremely cost effective.” Scruffy's well-appointed 1,670 square-metre (18,000 sq ft) workshop houses machinery such as 7 & 5 axis CNC

milling/sculpting, 3 axis CNC routing and laser cutting, dual component spray systems and booths, metal and joinery workshops, mould-making and scenic painting facilities. These, together with a handpicked selection of skilled craftspeople, mean the company can provide a truly turn-key service. To date, Scruffy Dog has provided creative design and

fabrication on a wide range of world-class projects for the likes of Legoland Windsor, Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Madame Tussauds and other Merlin attractiions, as well as its ongoing film and television work. A nice marriage of the two was the firm's recent work with ITV and Continuum Attractions in the UK, helping to transform ITV’s old Leeds studios into The Emmerdale Experience, based on the popular TV soap opera of the same name. With work now coming in from across the globe, the company is also exploring options for studios in North America. Whatever theming or creative work you may require at

your attraction for 2017 or beyond, why not give Scruffy Dog a shout? They promise not to make a dog's dinner of it.
