Beyond the surface finish, the actual casing design has been modified to increase its air- tightness and eliminate cold bridges – all in order to minimise energy losses. Inside the new casing there is a new product platform, which enables the unit’s modules to be combined far more freely than in previous product generations. The product quality, level of performance and streamlining that have hallmarked GOLD over the last two decades has not been compromised. The new platform makes it easier to find the right unit for each individual project, without any customisation required. This means big savings in time and project design effort and results in effective and easily installed solutions.

GOLD RX units with rotary heat exchangers, there is now the add-on option of a built-in heat pump solution for generating cooling and heating, fully integrated into both the GOLD physical casing and its control system too.


But the innovations don’t end there. For


applications where there’s a risk of odour transfer, there is the new GOLD PX, which is based on a unique combination of the efficient RECOflow counter-flow heat exchanger and the intelligent RECOfrost control system. The first new-generation GOLD units were dispatched from the factory in January 2017.

wegon’s new generation WISE system, is said to represent up-to-date pioneering technology in demand controlled


ventilation. By supplying air, cooling and heating in just the right amounts, at the right time to the right places, demand controlled ventilation saves up to 80% of the fan energy and 40% of the cooling and heating energy in a building. The new WISE system is said to be able to do this without sacrificing any of the indoor climate comfort. The new generation WISE has been


developed on the back of development work and experience gained from hundreds of installations. It is designed to be easy to install, flexible and user friendly, ensuring the entire building process is as efficient as possible. Software such as Swegon ESBO (Early Stage Building Optimisation), and the product selection software IC Design provide decision making support. Dene Kent, head of ventilation, explains: “The modern software we have created makes complex issues simple to handle. By starting from the customer needs, suggesting products and providing visual support, it’s easy to create great indoor climate in each room.” To simplify the later stages of the building


process, the system is based on the latest technology for wireless communication. A patented radio solution makes the WISE products, such as dampers and diffusers, communicate via integrated radio nodes. This means significant cost savings thanks to reduced cabling and it eliminates the risk of misconnections. Dene adds: “Taking the step from wired to


wireless technology is a major leap, helping us build a system that is even more reliable and easier to install.” In addition, the web-based Super WISE user interface has been remodelled. With maximum visual overview and simple handling of system settings, the Super WISE is said to be exceptionally easy to work with.
