CIAT
CIAT product ranges have been awarded the PEP (Product Environment Profi le) Ecopassport declaration. The PEP Ecopassport program is a globally recognised environmental declaration initiative designed for electrical, electronic, and HVAC equipment, recognised and certifi ed under ISO 14025, 14040 and 14044 standards. It is a voluntary program developed by the PEP Association, a non-profi t organisation dedicated to developing the Environmental Declaration Program PEP Ecopassport internationally. The program provides a standardised framework for assessing and communicating the environmental performance of products, enabling customers to make informed decisions based on transparent and reliable data. The CIAT Floway, Vectios, CLIMACIAT Airaccess and Airtech, ILD R-32, Coadis Line 600/900, Melody 2, Major
AQUACIATPOWER
Line and Comfort Line ranges underwent a rigorous evaluation process, including a comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA), to meet the stringent requirements of the PEP Ecopassport program. The LCA evaluated various environmental aspects, such as resource consumption, energy effi ciency, and waste generation, from the extraction of raw materials to the end-of- life disposal of the products. “Earning the PEP Ecopassport declaration on such a broad
range of our products demonstrates our commitment to eco- design principles and sustainable manufacturing practices,” said Daniel Wood, head of sales for CIAT UK & Ireland. “It also represents a powerful indication of our ongoing eff orts to reduce the environmental footprint of our products and our contribution to a more sustainable future for the HVAC industry and beyond.” The PEP Ecopassport declaration validates CIAT’s
environmental performance and assures customers that they choose products that align with their sustainability objectives. This recognition further strengthens the company’s position as a trusted partner for environmentally conscious customers seeking high-quality HVAC solutions.

Carel
On 25 September at 10am CEST (9am BST), Carel will be presenting a webinar-quiz, in English, on the topic of safety standards for the use of fl ammable refrigerants in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump (RACHP) systems. The progressive reduction in the use of fl uorinated refrigerants has led to increased take-up of fl ammable refrigerants in the RACHP sector, in particular R290 (propane). The applicable safety standards defi ne the safety procedures to be adopted during the various stages in the design and use of systems, in particular when using fl ammable refrigerants. In recent years, the most widely-applied standards in the RACHP sector have been updated and/or currently are under evaluation, in order to adapt to the latest developments and thus extend the use of fl ammable refrigerants. During the webinar, Carel will off er key indications for understanding the main safety standards used in RACHP applications in Europe, namely EN 378, EN 60335-2-40 and EN 60335-2-89: the Group in fact has extensive knowledge of the requirements defi ned by European regulations, having studied and developed solutions containing products compatible with fl ammable refrigerants for many years. Biagio Lamanna, Head of the Carel HVAC/R Knowledge Center, commented: “Safety is an absolute priority for Carel. Through this webinar, we aim to provide industry professionals the information they need to understand and correctly apply the relevant safety standards, ensuring that RACHP systems are safe and compliant with current regulations.” The webinar will be conducted by Miriam Solana Ciprés,
HVACR technical knowledge manager, and Raul Simonetti, HVACR corporate business manager at Carel. They will provide information on the practical implications of the European standards, examining the various aspects not only in a lesson format, but also through a fun quiz, with gadgets awarded to the three participants who answer the most questions correctly in the shortest time.
