Munters has installed dehumidifi ers in archive rooms at Belvoir Castle, Rutland, UK, to protect the family’s historical records from deterioration and moisture damage in the castle’s archive rooms. These rooms house a vast collection of books, documents, maps, manuscripts, and estate management records, with the oldest document dating back to 1103. However, the passage of time has taken its toll on many of these documents, and humidity and moisture have caused visible damage such as mould growth, yellowing, and discolouration. Recognising the need to protect these irreplaceable records, Belvoir Castle previously tried commercial dehumidifi ers with little success. Munters were then selected to design a dehumidifi cation solution tailored to the challenges of Belvoir Castle. “You can see why an industrial solution is needed. Due to the thickness of the castle walls, having one dehumidifi er in each of the archive rooms is essential,” said the 11th Duke of Rutland, David Manners. Each of the fi ve dehumidifi ers installed was selected to maintain consistent relative humidity levels of 50-55% RH, preventing further damage and ensuring the long-term preservation. This solution meets the British Standard BS4971 for conservation in archives, as well as reducing the need for additional heating, which in turn saves energy. This project has been a testament to the importance of
preserving history. By safeguarding the Duke of Rutland’s family archives, Munters is helping to ensure that future generations can enjoy these invaluable records.

Daikin Applied (UK) has introduced the HTM-Pro T Series, a compact, high- performance air handling unit (AHU) tailored for space-constrained healthcare environments. Engineered and tested in Cramlington, the unit meets NHS HTM 03-01 ventilation standards, delivering hygienic, effi cient airfl ow with simplifi ed maintenance. Designed for refurbishment projects and tight plantrooms, the
HTM-Pro T Series starts at just 1100 mm wide and 3840 mm long, with airfl ow capacities from 0.85 to 4.2 m³/s. Top duct connections and side pipework allow wall-adjacent installation, preserving access and minimising footprint. Key features include tool-free, slide-out drain trays and internal LED lighting to support hygiene and inspection routines. A unique fi lter frame enables ergonomic removal while maintaining a secure seal to prevent bypass. The unit’s two-stage fi ltration system, ePM10 70% (M5) and F7 (ePM1 55%), ensures high indoor air quality. A counterfl ow plate heat exchanger recovers up to 80% of thermal energy, while EC fans with IE5 motors deliver energy- effi cient performance. The T2 TB2 casing includes 42mm double- skin panels with mineral wool insulation and stainless-steel internals for durability and thermal integrity. An integrated plug- and-play digital control system simplifi es commissioning and operation.
Supplied as a single-cabinet unit, the HTM-Pro T Series
streamlines delivery and installation where access permits. With UK-based design and production, customers benefi t from shorter lead times and equipment tailored to local healthcare standards.
