Originally trained in construction plant maintenance, he
‘fell into’ refrigeration when the apprenticeship path he was on came to an abrupt end, and once he was in, he quickly realised the impact and opportunity the sector off ered. A natural problem-solver with a talent for clear thinking under pressure, Kevin has brought a rare combination of hands-on experience, commercial acumen and technical precision to every role he held. Over the years, he progressed through the Bitzer UK business and became known as the go-to expert on compressors. His leadership style was quiet and considered, never about shouting the loudest, but always about delivering substance. Whether helping a contractor troubleshoot a tricky install or guiding a customer through refrigerant changeovers, Kevin’s advice has always been always honest, technically sound and backed by decades of experience. In 2010, Kevin was appointed Managing Director of Bitzer UK. Under his leadership, the business has continued to grow and evolve, supporting customers through some of the most complex and fast-moving periods in the industry’s history. He has helped navigate change with calm authority and a deep understanding of what really matters to engineers and specifi ers alike. Throughout his career, Kevin has been a fi rm believer
that progress should support the people on the ground. He’s championed smart tools and system innovations, but always with a clear eye on practicality, ensuring that service engineers, installers and end users can get real value from what’s being delivered. He’s also been a major contributor to the wider industry.
Kevin served as President of the Institute of Refrigeration and has sat on several IOR committees, where he has helped shape conversations around regulation, skills and professionalism. He’s mentored countless younger engineers and has never hesitated to share his time, insight or guidance to help others succeed.
One of his standout qualities is his ability to demystify the complex. Whether it’s explaining compressor technologies, interpreting refrigerant data or exploring the implications of regulatory shifts, Kevin has a knack for turning complicated problems into clear, manageable steps. He’s known across the industry not just for his knowledge, but for his willingness to share it.
