sales training: Samsung ‘A better experience, every day’
Samsung UK digital appliance national training manager Carol Cook gives her top tips for demonstrating Samsung’s technologies that improve wash performance and make lives easier
W
hile most consumers understand the basic principles of how their washing machine
might work, it is essential to explain and demonstrate key benefits on the shop floor so consumers can understand how features work and be traded up to more premium appliances. Samsung’s ecobubble™ technology
mixes air with the water and detergent to create bubbles that penetrate clothes faster, helping consumers wash at cooler temperatures: better for the environment and for a customer’s bills. To demonstrate the technology, open
the detergent drawer and show where the ecobubble™ process starts. Mention that if detergent is added straight in the drum, the process operates slightly differently but is just as effective.
Explain that when the wash cycle starts,
water is flushed through the detergent drawer taking it down to the bubble generator in the base of the machine. The water and detergent is then thoroughly mixed and injected with air to create bubbles. AddWash™ is a feature which will appeal
to anyone who has found an item of clothing left behind when they’ve just set off the
washing machine. Forgot a shirt? AddWash™ lets you simply and quickly add forgotten clothes after your cycle has already started. You can also easily pop in hand- washed clothes that you just want to rinse or spin dry. In order to demonstrate the
feature, point to the Play/Pause button on the control panel and explain to the customer that you need to press the button to pause before opening the AddWash™ Door and again to resume the wash cycle after closing the door. Open the AddWash™ door fully. Explain how the opening angle of 140° lets you conveniently add missed laundry items. For customers that want to fight
tough stains, perhaps families with young children or those who play sports, appeal to them with Bubble Soak. With the touch of a button Bubble Soak technology helps remove a variety of stubborn stains. Clothes are thoroughly soaked in bubbles, so stains are loosened and removed effectively. After highlighting the Bubble Soak button on the control display, explain how it can add an extra phase to the selected washing cycles to help with stain removal. Open the door of the washing machine and show the holes in the base of the drum. Explain that the bubbles will enter the drum through these holes, and soak the clothes in order to loosen and help remove the stains.
The drum itself also includes benefits for
customers. Samsung’s unique diamond drum is designed to take care of garments. With holes smaller than a standard drum and a unique diamond-embossed imprint, which collects water to cushion the clothes, fabrics are prevented from protruding from the drum and snagging. Showing off the interior of the washing machine lets you explain to the customer about the design, and let them feel how the indentations will collect water to protect the clothes during the wash. It is also important to remember that
Many Samsung washing machine models include a five year manufacturer warranty, ensuring peace of mind for consumers

laundry products get a lot of use, and there are many features which give consumers a better experience every day.
AddWash™ lets customers add forgotten items to the washing machine, even after a cycle has started
For example, Samsung’s brushless Digital
Inverter Motor uses magnets to drive the rotation of the drum, thereby lessening friction inside the motor. This keeps noise and vibration to a minimum which in turn reduces wear and tear. The energy label on the machine includes the decibel (dB) figure in the bottom right hand corner, which shows the noise level of the machine. Make sure to compare the noise levels with that of a model without the Digital Inverter Motor to show how this can vary. Also take the opportunity to highlight the A+++ rating and talk about how a higher energy rating means lower running costs and reduces carbon footprint. Show the Digital Inverter Motor logo on the front of the machine, reinforcing that this comes with a 10 year warranty. Alongside Samsung’s washing machines,
we have matching Heatpump dryers, with an optional stacking kit. For customers where space is at a premium in the kitchen, be sure to highlight the benefits of washer dryers. Listen to the customer, and find the product that best meets their needs.
