covers the whole of the North, he will offer vital project design and support for M&E contractors for fire systems via the electrical distribution channel. On-site support will be provided by Darren from a design and install perspective to ensure compliance to the very latest and appropriate BS5839 regulations governing fire detection and fire alarm systems. Prysmian Group announces new UK Chief Executive P
rysmian Group has announced the appointment of Llyr Roberts as Chief

for the Prysmian Group in various roles around the world for 30 years. He has held CEO positions in Australia and New Zealand, Eastern Europe and Germany as well as working in other senior management roles in Europe, most recently as SVP of New Markets based at the Prysmian Group headquarters in Italy.
Mr Roberts said: “With
excellent results for the last year, we have a very strong foundation. Our manufacturing facilities and highly skilled people continue to provide the high-quality products and services demanded by our customers. “We will maintain our focus in the construction, utilities and telecommunication sectors where we have a strong position while recognising the significant opportunities in industrial sectors such as rail, oil and gas, mining and heavy industry.” Mr Roberts takes over from Paul Atkinson who has moved to head up the Prysmian Group operations in Singapore.

aton has appointed David Hicks as Technical Director of Security Products
to oversee the continuing development of new technology in the business. Leading a team of engineers at the power management company’s security innovation centre in Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire, Mr Hicks’ primary objective is to design and develop next- generation security products. He is also responsible for ensuring the existing portfolio is continually updated. “The engineering team here is highly skilled and experienced and I’m delighted to join them,” said Mr Hicks. “There’s a real sense of energy. We have exciting plans to build on our strengths and continue to innovate so that our customers can benefit from security products that offer
