The line-up of LogiDrive systems enables a quicker selection of the suitable drive for a given application and allows for reducing the variety of versions to a manageable few. IE4 synchronous motors with 1.1 kW, 1.5 kW, and 2.2 kW rated power are combined with two-stage helical bevel gears for speed ranges of 0-565 rpm (size 1) or 0-482 rpm (size 2 and 3). The transmission is continuously variable in the range from 1 to 500. Distributed frequency inverters for installation on the conveyor frame near the motor ensure optimum accessibility. They feature a key switch for disconnection from the plant control system and a direction switch for local set-up.

Corporation – has launched NEW LubeFree options for their AM series air motors that utilize a proprietary vane material that provides versatility, allowing users the options to oil or not oil the motor.
G This new LubeFree option has expanded GAST’s range of
2AM, 4AM and 6AM Series air motors and affords operators the flexibility to modify their maintenance schedules or save money by eliminating oil, lubricator components and system maintenance.
Existing 2AM, 4AM and 6AM Series motors – which are used in a vast number of applications including chemical, paint and sanitary mixing, pump drive, material handling, and other industrial and remote applications – can be upgraded and retrofitted using a new LubeFree vane kit.
As Gast Group’s Andrew Lidington explains, pneumatic motors operating with in-line lubricators have the benefit of extended life, they improve efficiency and act as a protectorant of surface finishes against dirty or humid inlet air. However, ensuring that motors are
regularly oiled can be costly, cumbersome and, in some applications, not even an acceptable option.
“With the LubeFree AM Series option, GAST now has a simple and effective solution. In fact, independent tests have shown more than
10,000 hours of operation in completely oil-less applications and, when lubricated regularly or even occasionally, the motor’s life can be extended by up to 110%!” says Andrew.

Another solution from Hart
aced with the escape of odours over neighbouring housing, an Essex-based company opted for a solution provided by Hart Door Systems. Hart’s sales manager, Julian Britnell, explains that an established client of Hart Door Systems, with a depot in Essex, was experiencing issues with vapour and smoke escaping from an open- ended building while lorries were being loaded with tarmac. “The odour from this could be carried in the wind to nearby local residents and our client sought a solution from us to prevent this happening,” says Mr. Britnell. “We installed three Speedor Supers, the original tensioned blade high speed door developed for frequent usage openings. The doors in this instance are activated by overhead movement sensors which open the doors as lorries approach giving them access inside, once the lorries have fully entered the building the doors then close allowing the lorries to be loaded behind closed doors so preventing the escape of vapour and smoke. All doors have safety photocells and safety bottom edge features,” adds Mr. Britnell.
