Englewood, Colo.-based Cappella Living Solutions, Christian Living Community’s management and consulting arm, has as- sumed management of several senior liv- ing communities. It will now support seven Villagio communities, which offer a mix of independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Communities in Texas are Villagio of Carrollton, Villagio of Plano, Vil- lagioMcKinney, and Villagio of Kerrville; in Oklahoma, Bradford Village in Edmond, and Villagio of Oklahoma City; in Colorado, Villagio of Broomfield. Four communities owned by NexCore LLC also transitioned to Cappella management: Walnut Crossing, Marysville, Ohio; Heritage Crossing, Akron, Ohio; Sugar Fork Crossing, Anderson, Ind.; and Demaree Crossing, Greenwood, Ind. These communities off er assisted living and memory care services. Cappella is also now operating Legacy Commons of Pueblo West, in Pueblo West, Colo.
Civitas Senior Living, based in Fort Worth, Texas, and Desert Land Group, an Arizo- na real estate developer, have planned a new continuing care retirement community, The Bluff s of Flagstaff , in Flagstaff , Ariz. It will have 204 residences. The company also opened a new community in North Rich- land Hills, Texas. StoneCreek Senior Living at North Richland Hills was developed with StoneCreek Real Estate Partners, a senior living developer.
JEA Senior Living, based in Vancouver, Wash., has received an investment from Ac- cess Industries, headquartered in New York City. The transaction follows Access Indus- tries’ purchase of 10 senior living communi- ties from JEA and its affi liates in March 2019 in Washington, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee and Indiana. JEA’s leadership team, led by CEO Cody Erwin, will remain in place. JEA has managed, developed and owned commu- nities for more than 30 years throughout the United States.
The School of Hospitality Business Manage- ment at Washington State University, based in Pullman, Wash., dedicates its Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living in October. A reception planned for Oct. 30 will recognize the completion of a $2.5 million fundraising
campaign, with industry and personal con- tributions to honor the legacy and contribu- tions of senior living pioneer Granger Cobb, who led several senior living companies, in- cluding Emeritus.
Pittsburgh-based Touchtown, a senior living engagement platform, has partnered with Engrain, an interactive technology and map- based data visualization company based in Denver. Touchtown’s Census Builder app will integrate Engrain’s SightMap to allow prospective residents and their families to virtually tour communities.
Schonberg Care, based in New Orleans, re- cently acquired St. Margaret’s at Belleville Assisted Living, in New Orleans. The com- munity has been renamed The Suites at Al- giers Point to refl ect the historic neighbor- hood in which it is located.

Powell began her career as a wellness director; she now pro- vides operational support to Merrill Gardens communities throughout California, Nevada, and Arizona. This is the sixth year CALA has awarded the scholarship.
Toledo, Ohio-based Welltower real estate investment trust (REIT) announced Tim McHugh is now senior vice president and CFO. McHugh has been with the company since 2016 and most recently served as senior vice president, corporate fi nance.
