In a Data-Driven World, NIC MAP Vision Supplies Vital Information to Senior Living
By Patrick Connole S
eemingly every part of life is dom- inated by data and the need for information and analysis of what it
all means. In the senior living world, there is a deep thirst for more and more data as the profession becomes ever-more focused on integral trends in supply and demand, care quality analysis, and the integration of the sector in the overall healthcare sphere, among other factors.
A leader in data collection and dissemina- tion for senior living is NIC MAP Vision, an organization with the goal to be the single source for senior housing research, data, and analysis. To help explain what NIC MAP Vision does, and where it came from, Arick Morton, NIC MAP Vision CEO, answered a series of questions on the topic.
Note, that NIC MAP Vision and Argen- tum, the voice for America’s professionally managed senior living communities, recently entered into an agreement to make the data analytics group an Official Data and Insights Partner of Argentum.
SLE: What is the collaboration with Argentum about? AM: Basically, NIC MAP Vision will provide Argentum access to data, tools, and services to assist with key industry imperatives recently outlined in the trade group’s strategic vision for senior living. The partnership allows Argentum to better tell the story and value proposition of senior living to various stakeholders, including state and federal regulators, elected offi- cials, workforce boards, and the investment community, among others. Argentum is a
trusted resource among senior housing pro- fessionals across the country, and we are the gold standard in supply and demand data that fuels the industry. This partnership will improve transparency within the industry by connecting Argentum members with important data they can’t get anywhere else.
SLE: How did the concept for NIC MAP Vision originate? AM: My interest in senior housing runs deep because I come from a family of se- nior housing operators. From talks at the dinner table to shadowing professionals at the ground level, I gained unique experi- ences that strengthened my appreciation for the industry. This background, paired
with background in data and analytics, led to the creation of VisionLTC, a senior housing data and analytics startup that pro- vided insights and market evaluations for those looking to expand in the se- nior housing indus- try. In 2021, we combined with the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC) and we are the trusted, single source for senior housing supply, demand, and operational data and analysis.
