Facilities

2014 for the ISEH in terms of facilities was about making the ISEH fit for purpose. As a result state of art video conferencing / AV facilities were installed in meeting areas and IT infrastrucure put in place to deliver the two Masters courses ensuring the ISEH was fully compatible with UCL including lecture cast capabilities. The Lab is now populated with a number of different devices allowing the research team to have the capability to deliver

a range of different projects. The Lab also had a hypoxic chambers installed to support the Xtreme Everest research team and other associated research projects.

We have also tried to increase the awareness of what’s on offer at the ISEH through clear signage which has also helped sign post people to correct floor and also tried to inspire people to be more physically active.

“The ISEH offers the unique combination of physical and biochemical testing facilities that makes it possible to translate scientific discoveries from the laboratory into highly relevant patient centred observations. This in turn will guide future innovations and therapies that will

hopefully improve outcomes for patients with critical illness.”
