IWE Istanbul Water Expo 2016 is offering “Smart Water Solutions for a Sustainable Living” Bringing together the players of the water and wastewater treatment technologies industry, IWE Istanbul Water Expo, the first and only specialised trade event of the industry, will continue working effectively on increasing water awareness in Turkey in 2016 as well.


At IWE Istanbul Water Expo 2016 which will be held at Istanbul Expo Center between 1-3 September 2016, the exhibitors will have the opportunity to showcase their latest solutions and products, meet with decision makers in the industry, enter new markets and gain new investment opportunities.


EUF International Trade Fairs, an ITE Turkey group company, organizing leading trade fairs for the leading industries in Turkey, will be organizing IWE Istanbul Water Expo – 2nd Istanbul Water and Wastewater Treatment Technologies Exhibition and Conference at Istanbul Expo Center between 1 - 3 September 2016. By emphasizing the “importance of water and waste water treatment” mainly in Turkey and the rest of the world, will bring together the latest smart water solutions for a sustainable living under one roof.


Tülin Bozkurt Bulut, the Director of IWE Istanbul Water Expo, the first and only exhibition focusing on water and wastewater technologies industry in Turkey: “We’ll be organizing IWE Istanbul Water Expo, the first and only specialised trade event of the sector for the second time between 1 - 3 September 2016. Urgent action required for water security


IWE Istanbul Water Expo Director Tülin Bozkurt Bulut: “According to World Bank report titled “Sustainable Development Goals”, “water security” ranks as number one among global risks. The report foresees a 40% decrease in the usable water amounts until 2030 and a 15% increase in global water consumption with the world population expected to reach 9 billion by 2050. The report also indicates that 2,4 billion people across the world use untreated water and 700 million people don’t have access to clean water. In the coming years, over 7% decrease is anticipated in the GDPs of countries that don’t have access to “usable water” resources.”


Turkey depleting her water resources rapidly


According to European Union Environmental Compliance Strategy Report, initial investment and renovation costs for drinking water treatment facilities and networks will be 23,6 billion TL between 2007 and 2023 and 3 times the initial investment costs will be required for renovation projects. Bulut, said the following about this issue, “Due to rapid increase in population and careless water consumption in our country, and global warming, we are depleting our water resources rapidly. Investments in water and wastewater facilities should be made faster in order to ensure a clean and sustainable life.”


IWE Istanbul Water Expo; the first of which was held at Istanbul Expo Center last year between 3-5 September 2015, brought together 95 participant companies and 244 brands from 11 countries and 3,539 professional visitors from 59 countries. At the conference organized in association with MEM-TEK National Research Center on Membrane Technologies as part of the exhibition, the main topics of discussion were “Water and Wastewater Management and Its Future”, “Sustainable Use of Water Resources”, “Best Practices in Water and Wastewater Management”, “Membrane Technologies” and “Clean Manufacturing Technologies”. Among the supporters of the exhibition were Republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, Iller Bank, Union of Municipalities of Turkey, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration, Izmir Chamber of Commerce and United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section.
