424 pumps for Riventa to test as WelshWater make commitment to net zero


As part of its commitment to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, Dŵr CymruWelshWater is collaborating with Riventa to test the efficiency of 424 wastewater pumps at 132 treatment works.


Riventa’s expertise in next-generation pump system optimisation will supportWelshWater in evaluating asset performance and reducing energy consumption, resulting in significant savings.


Over the next two years, Riventa will gather accurate and high- quality data to determine the health and efficiency of all 424 pumps. This data will identify inefficiencies and enableWelsh Water to address poor assets, driving investment and refurbishments to improve performance.


Andrew Heygate-Browne, Energy Projects Analyst atWelsh Water, said: “As one of the largest energy users inWales, with a gross energy bill of £77million in 2021/22, we recognize the need to reduce our energy consumption and play a significant role inWelsh Government’s decarbonisation targets forWales. Working with Riventa to ensure our pumps operate as efficiently as possible is one of several critical steps we’re taking towards Dŵr CymruWelshWater achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.”


WelshWater are working with Riventa to ensure that its pumps operate as efficiently as possible.


Data fromRivetna will identify inefficiencies, enablingWelsh Water to act upon poor assets.
