IBS Journal: Who or what inspired you to set the company up?


DM: We believe in banks and credit unions as the pillars of local communities, with their stability and growth key to our economy. Meanwhile, so many are holding onto legacy technology that puts their businesses at risk for survival. Nymbus was founded around this principal and market dilemma. Our core platform addresses the wide range of digital functions and scalability that modern banks and CU’s absolutely require. This is the time for these institutions to


transform. Our platform is going to get them there.


IBS Journal: What has been your smartest move?


DM: Our streak of key company acquisitions. In June, we finalised the takeover of Sharp BancSystems and credit union service providers,


KMR and R. C. Olmstead. These have given us instant access to existing customer bases that will convert to our modern core, as well as personnel with valuable banking software experience. Altogether pushing us quickly further ahead in the marketplace.


IBS Journal: What was your biggest


challenge/setback?


DM: Since Nymbus was founded in 2015, interest in the platform has been immediate and growth rapid. Scaling to meet this overwhelming demand became a top priority. Fortunately, the value of SmartCore has not gone unnoticed by investors. Just recently in August, we announced a $12 million financing round that will go into effect immediately to convert new clients and also drive our continued growth and innovation.


IBS Journal: Where do you want to be in five years?


Dm: Simple. The market’s go-to modern core supplier.
