One of the things that an organizaon like Community Associaons Instute oers to give value to its membership is the services that it provides to each of its constuent groups. The interesng thing about CAI is that our membership is made up of four groups, each with dierent interests, which makes it even harder to provide for everyone. These groups include the Community Associaon Volunteer Leaders (CAVL) who live in the communies and who serve on their community’s board of directors, the Managers (MGR) and Management Companies (MGMT) who employ many of the professional managers who manage the communies, and the Business Partners (BP) that provide services to the communies.

What an interesng group!

The mission of CAI is to inspire professionalism, eecve leadership and responsible cizenship in these communies. If you look at our website (cai-padelval.org), you will see that one of the key factors that makes us successful as a chapter is the multude of programs and opportunies for everyone.

For CAVLs, there is a category of educaon just for you. This includes the newly designed Board Leadership Development Program which serves as an orientaon for newly elected volunteer leaders or a refresher course for those who’ve served for some me. We also oer our live and on-demand webinars to CAVL members free of charge. And, of course, our upcoming Annual Conference & Expo also features educaonal sessions tailored specically for you, including our new Ask the Experts Chat Room session where you can ask quesons and get answers from three expert professionals in engineering / reserves, insurance, and the law.

For Community Associaon Managers, one example of our ongoing programs is the Manager Educaon Breakfast Club—four seminars each year on crical topics to managing your communies. We also have some great educaonal programs to choose from at the Annual Conference & Expo, including topics on bankruptcy, insurance, technology, hoarding, and even drones in community associaons. Managers can earn up to two connuing educaon credits and ten points towards your PCAM applicaon. Manager members who aend the conference will also get free admission to our Manager Designaons Networking Event (May 17) and Summer Networking Party (August 3).

For Business Partners, there are ongoing networking events to provide opportunies for you to meet and network with managers and volunteer leaders. Another great benet is CAI Naonal’s Educated Business Partner educaon program. Addionally, we oer the opportunity to speak at chapter educaonal programs on topics related to your areas of experse as well as opportunies to write arcles for our blog and magazine. And, of course, our business partners have the opportunity to parcipate as an integral part of our Annual Conference & Expo as an exhibitor, presenter, adverser, or sponsor. All of these methods further allow you to increase your visibility with the rest of the membership.

Although we are a varied and diverse organizaon, all of our members have the primary objecve of keeping our organizaon strong by sharing not only their experse but also aending educaonal seminars to increase their knowledge of what they do. The goal everyone has is to keep our industry strong and respected by connuing to improve on the quality of what they do.

That’s what makes being a part of this industry rewarding for all of us.
