CASTS A CREATIVE LIGHT ON THE ROMANCE OF
by Rob Mariani Assistant Editor
When Eddy and Linda Stahowiak each said “I do” back in 2008, it was more than just the start of a happy, rewarding marriage. It was the beginning of a creative working relationship that today has blossomed into a highly successful wedding photo and design team called “Stack 9 Photography & Design.”
Inspired by Edward O’Hara, his teacher at Pilgrim High School, Eddy continued to pursue his interest in graphic design at Rhode Island College and soon after graduation began doing design work at various companies around Rhode Island.
When Ed and Linda married in 2008, they were inspired by the wonderful job done by the husband and wife team that photographed their wedding event.
“It struck us right away,” says Eddy, “that this was something both of us could be good at and really enjoy together.”
Linda had always loved taking family photos that captured a moment or told a story, and Ed’s expertise with graphic design programs completed the tool kit needed to make this a thriving enterprise.
“We shot our first wedding in May of 2009 and the business hasn’t stopped growing since,” Eddy says. “We

photographed 27 weddings and several portraits and events last year and already have around 25 booked for the coming season.”
Currently Stack 9 Photography & Design offers a full package that includes custom-designed wedding albums, invitations, as well as wedding day themed items like table number cards and name cards.
Linda and Eddy both come from large, fun-loving families, and when asked where the name “Stack 9” originated, Eddy replies, “My Dad’s favorite number has always been 9 because he said that all the greatest athletes wore that number. It was a family tradition. My brother and sisters and I all wore number 9 whenever we played sports.”
When you look through the Stack 9 portfolio of work, it’s easy to see why they are always in demand. Every photo captures a unique elegance and grace that frames the bride and the groom in the most romantic and memorable way.
“We believe nothing triggers a memory like a creatively composed photo,” Eddy says. “We want your images to take you back to one of the best, most important days of your life. That’s what we work to capture and preserve.”
