6 | UPDATES Chile Lifts All Remaining Travel Restrictions

AS of 9 May, PCR tests and vaccination certificates are no longer required to enter Chile as a tourist as the “Protected Border Plan” is eliminated. The Ministry of Health will no longer implement

the “Protected Border Plan” in Chile. The change was made after the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the end of the Public Health Emergency of International Importance (ESPII) by SARS-CoV2. Visitors will no longer need a PCR test or Covid-19 vaccination certificate upon entry into Chile nor will they be subject to random Covid-19 testing. It is important to highlight that, although the epidemic threat in relation to Covid-19 is declining, the circulation of other respiratory viruses should be acknowledged ahead of the winter months. It is therefore important to keep vaccinations up to date, both against Covid-19 and influenza, as well as to maintain the self-care measures that were adopted during the pandemic: frequent hand washing, keeping closed spaces ventilated, and the use of masks where necessary.
