cliff views and numerous lookout points. Admirably, in 2022 the Causeway area and coastal route was described as the single largest attraction on the Island of Ireland, with over one million visitors arriving to the Causeway district pre-covid. With the crème de la crème of the North Coast being the beautiful seaside town of Portstewart for NI Travel News’ Christine,

she

recently checked out the most attractive hotel in this idyllic coastal setting.

Me & Mrs Jones is modern 4* lifestyle

hotel oozing quirky personality throughout. Before walking through the doors, I could already tell this beauty was going to be right up my street! After a seamless

check-in, we walked through the foyer and halls to find our Signature room; eyes everywhere as we took in the extravagant glamour of it all. The seaside hotel has 16 luxurious double rooms with each one boasting a unique vibe, trendy décor and bespoke furniture, completely in theme with the exaggerated wildness throughout this charming establishment. Families are not forgotten from this undeniably chic experience with 4 Luxe XL rooms on offer.

The overnight packages available are versatile and despite fronting as the ultimate intimate getaway for couples (and having

been previously crowned

Ireland’s most Romantic Hotel at the Irish Hotel Awards) I opted for a girly getaway and recommend this as the perfect retreat for a night with friends. You can even get the party started with a relaxing in-room

treatment! At your disposal, there is an award- winning restaurant and a VIP lounge delivering countless mouth-watering signature cocktails. Our table host Andy very kindly informed us that if we didn’t see our favourite cocktail, that was not a problem, and the bartender would be happy to accommodate. So, of course, we put this to the test and opted for a Pear Martini- boy did they deliver!

With pre-dinner sips we nibbled over

some marinated olives and spiced roasted mixed nuts, the perfect warm up to the main dining event. Our chosen running order was Carraig Bán goats’ cheese & beetroot and smoked Broighter Salmon & crème fraiche to start, Salt aged Angus steak & Local estate roasted venison entrees and White chocolate Crème Brûlée with Mrs. Jones’ shortbread to finish. Each course was the epitome of flavour, and the culinary attention to detail was harmonious with the entire offering of this cosy establishment. Huge commendation to Head Chef Chris for such an exquisite gastronomic experience.

After a night of sweet dreams courtesy of the most comfy and luxurious bed in our Signature chamber, it was time for a quick walk down the glorious seafront promenade. We were very lucky to end our stay- cay with the sun shining showcasing the glistening sea of Portstewart Strand. In

Travel News is now a firm advocate of Me & Mrs Jones. This is a must see for a short stay or a bite to eat, or even a few drinks if passing by the area.
