This route offers great connectivity to the UK’s cruise capital.


June and July 2023 will see TUI operate four departures from Belfast International Airport to Florida, departing on 22nd & 29th June as well as 6th and 13th of July 2023. In March 2023, Belfast International Airport welcomed back Ryanair as 16 new routes


launched ahead of the summer


season. From Belfast International Airport, Ryanair is operating sixteen routes across the UK and Europe. Routes across the UK include, London Stansted, Manchester, East Midlands, Cardiff, and Edinburgh. European destinations include Budapest,


Milan,


Barcelona, Paris, Alicante, Malaga, Faro, and Valencia.


TIME FOR TAKE OFF! Summer Season 2023 Underway For NI Airports


IT’S time to pack a bag and head off on those much-needed summer breaks as the 2023 summer season gets underway at Northern Ireland’s three airports. So far, 2023 has been an exciting year for Belfast City Airport, Belfast International Airport, and City of Derry Airport as expansion continues and passenger numbers increase.


Looking forward to the Summer Season, here is a summary of all the new routes, and upcoming routes launching from Northern Ireland’s Three Main Airports.


Belfast City Airport Belfast City Airport have made plenty of exciting announcements from the beginning of 2023.


Regional connectivity


has increased significantly from Belfast City Airport as Aer Lingus Regional commenced flights to Nottingham East Midlands on the 26th of March, this route was initially introduced as a daily service but increased to a double daily from Mid April. Aer Lingus Regional further strengthened their network with the introduction of a new connections between Belfast City Airport to the Newquay Cornwall which took off on the 3rd of April. Followed shortly by the commencement of Aer Lingus flights to Newcastle and Isle of Man which took off on the 28th of April 2023. Aer Lingus Regional Flights to Jersey also began at Belfast City with the service beginning on the 9th of May. easyJet have also further solidified their presence within Belfast City Airport with the announcement of two new routes taking off from the Belfast base. easyJet flight routes to London Luton and Manchester are set to begin on the 26th of June 2023 and both routes are set to fly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Germany’s flag carrier airline, Lufthansa, entered into the Northern Irish market for the first time on the 23rd of April with


the introduction of a flight route between Belfast City Airport and Frankfurt, Germany. These flights to Frankfurt operate up to four times a week, meaning it has never been easier for Northern Irish travellers to jet off to Frankfurt.


Belfast International Airport 2023 has been a jam-packed year for Belfast International Airport.

At the beginning of 2023, easyJet expanded their network from Belfast International Airport with the announcement of a new routes from Belfast to Antalya, Turkey. This easyJet route first took off on the 26th of March and will operate twice weekly throughout the summer season. easyJet also introduced a new route to Rhodes, Greece which will take off on it’s inaugural flight on the 3rd of June 2023.

City of Derry Airport For City of Derry Airport, 2023 has seen the increased connectivity to the UK and beyond for the travellers of the North West. Summer 2023 is looking bright for City of Derry Airport as the partnership between CODA and Travel Solutions flourishes. Travel Solutions’ chartered flights to Majorca are set to depart from 28 June 2023 until the 30th of August 2023 operating on a weekly basis. On 6 May 2023, City of Derry Airport gained


its first ever Air Link to London Heathrow as the Loganair Derry service moved from London Stansted to London Heathrow’s terminal two. This new air link

City of Derry Airport to London Heathrow, operated by Loganair, offers improved access to Central London and opens a ‘Gateway to the World’ as passengers are now able to book a single ticket connections to and from City of Derry Airport via London Heathrow. Ryanair have increased flights from City of Derry Airport for the Summer 2023 season with 8 weekly flights to Manchester. Flights between City of Derry Airport and Manchester are set to operate every Monday, Thursday,


Friday and Sunday. The route between City of Derry and Manchester commences on the 1st of June.

City of Derry Airport will welcome pilgrims across


County Derry-Londonderry,


County Donegal, and beyond, as Joe Walsh Tours is running 4, 5 and 6 night fully escorted tours to Lourdes from the Northwest this summer. The Raphoe Diocesan will travel on the first service taking off on Tuesday 23rd May, followed by the Derry Diocesan on Monday 3rd July, and a classic pilgrimage, available for anyone who would like to travel to Lourdes, will be departing on Friday 7th July.


Looking forward to 2024, City of Derry Airport have announced the introduction of a school ski program which is set to launch in January 2024. Flights will operate from City of Derry Airport between January and March 2024, taking the school groups to Verona where they will experience a ski trip hosted by TopFlight.
